Politics of Plastic Art Exhibit and Artists’ Reception – July 9th

The Cathedral City Public Arts Commission and Student Creative Recycle Art Program (S.C.R.A.P. Gallery) will host an environmental art exhibit entitled, “Politics of Plastic” from July 9, 2016 to October 29, 2016 and open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the new Cathedral City Art Gallery located adjacent to City Hall, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, in downtown Cathedral City.

“Politics of Plastic” examines the role of plastics in our lives and its effects on the environment. This interactive exhibit features the work of environmental artists Reenie Charriere, Hilary Christensen, Danielle Baudrand, Daniel Lanzilotta, S.C.R.A.P. Gallery, and student artwork from Cathedral City High School. Attendees will learn more about the four “Rs” – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Responsibility. The exhibit is part of a global initiative of a plastic fee July.

The public is invited to a special artists’ reception that will occur on Saturday, July 9, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cathedral City Art Gallery listed below. Admission is free.
