S.C.R.A.P. Gallery of Cathedral City Featured on The Weather Channel

Executive Director Karen Riley of S.C.R.A.P. Gallery located in Cathedral City appeared on The Weather Channel’s segment entitled, “America’s Science Lab” last Friday, July 10, 2020 to discuss the wonderful art that students have created even during the COVID-19 pandemic.  The segment showed a variety of projects that the gallery has been able to accomplish even though in person teaching has been significantly reduced.

Parents can sign-up to get weekly art projects free of charge through the gallery and keep the creative minds of kids growing.  Simply go to www.ScrapGallery.org.

The gallery was also on national television to promote Plastic Free July and the need to eliminate plastics in our lives, especially single-use plastics.  S.C.R.A.P. Gallery is encouraging residents to sign the pledge to make plastics a thing of the past.  You can go to its website at www.ScrapGallery.org and learn more about the campaign and pledge to do the following to eliminate plastic pollution:

Pledge 1: Use eco-friendly cleaning products.

Pledge 2: Dispose of chemicals properly.

Pledge 3: Avoid foods treated with synthetically manufactured pesticides.

Pledge 4: Do not discharge sewage from boats into coastal waters.

Additionally, if you are a business that has a clean product that is slated to be disposed of and would make great art, contact S.C.R.A.P. Gallery at 760-861-6479 for information on how you can donate it to this art educational non-profit located in Cathedral City.
