The VIP Balloon Glow Viewing Lounge happens on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Cathedral City Hot Air Balloon Festival. Enjoy the upbeat DJ music, while you watch the balloon crews set up and inflate the hot air balloons below. Wally’s Desert Turtle, a 4-Diamond AAA restaurant located in Rancho Mirage, will provide a no-host full bar, beer, wine, and yummy snacks, sandwiches, salads, and desserts for purchase.
The unique birds eye view from the 3rd story parking structure offers the perfect location to watch the Balloon Glow, take a selfie and great photos of the sunset, balloons and fireworks. There will be bands on the big stage below, and new this year, the Sunniva Fireworks Finale. You may want to enjoy all of the action from the rooftop or take the elevator down to walk among the glowing balloons. Your VIP pass allows you to enjoy both.
The excitement builds after dark when the balloons begin to glow like gigantic light bulbs. You’ll want to have your camera ready when the DJs encourage the hot air balloon pilots to light up the balloons all at once, with the crowd counting down from 5 to 1 as they all command “All glow!” to light up the Civic Center with bright colors from the balloons and the powerful burners.
The VIP View Lounge is a fun place to meet up with friends, bring a date, and enjoy with family and friends of all ages. The VIP opens at 5:00 PM. There is free parking nearby.
