Tejano Music Fest Coming September 16th

The Cathedral City Public Arts Commission and Crazy Conjunto Productions are bringing to the Coachella Valley its first “Tejano Music Fest” on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 5 pm to 10 pm in Downtown Cathedral City. Tejano music brings together various forms of folk and popular music originating among the Mexican-American populations of Central and Southern Texas. It has the essence of both English and Spanish lyrics and a mix of pop, country and polka music. One of the genre’s major cross-over artists was the late “Selena” who was nicknamed, “The Queen of Tejano.”

Headliners for the music fest include “Mike G y Los Realez” band from Lubbock, Texas and La Justicia. The event will be emceed by Tejano Radio Network’s DJ Jammin J. Other activities include a Tejano art show at the adjacent Cathedral City Cultural Arts Museum, food and beverage vendors, children’s activities, and merchandise. Admission and parking are free.

The music fest does offer V.I.P. reserved table seating available online at . Nearly half of the reserved tables are sold, so do not delay!
