The New Barco Escape Film Experience Featuring “Star Trek Beyond” Debuts Tonight at the Newly Renovated Mary Pickford Theatre in Cathedral City
No need to drive to Los Angeles to experience the 3-screen Barco Escape film experience when you can enjoy it right here in Cathedral City at the newly refurbished Mary Pickford Theatre. This innovated film technology offers different perspectives unseen by any other film format. It has the ability to display a panoramic view as other formats have provided in the past, but it can also offer three different angles of the shot all at once.
Over the past year, the renovation of the Mary Pickford Theatre has included a complete refurbish of the outdoor exterior and ongoing renovations of the interior space. Theater 2, which features the Barco Escape Film Experience, has just been overhauled with new captain, leather rocking chairs for ultimate comfort, new carpeting and tile, and the new 3-screen Barco Escape experience. The concession stands have been updated offering a wide selection of snacks, meals, and beverages including wine and beer. You’ll even be pleasantly surprised as you enter the new spa-like bathrooms. Over the next few months, all of the remaining screen theaters within the Mary Pickford Movie Complex will undergo complete renovations including the full reclining captain chairs. Plans also include adding motion technology to synchronize the visual effects of the movie with your seat.
