Two for Tuesdays Ice Skating Starts on August 1st – Desert Ice Castle in Cathedral City
This past Thursday, July 20th we reached our maximum capacity for the Free Summer ESkate of 175 ice skaters at Desert Ice Castle. Attendees were treated to free ice skating and ice skate rentals thanks to a renegotiated City contract with Desert Ice Castle and advocacy from our Parks and Community Events Commission to have another summer event for families. As you can see, the pictures say it all – lots of fun and two thumbs up!
If you were unable to attend this past Thursday or were beyond the 175-capacity crowd, a new program is now available for Cathedral City residents, called “Two for Tuesday.” On the first Tuesday of every month starting on August 1, 2017 (holidays excluded), you will be able to ice skate for half price! There are two public ice skate sessions on each “Two for Tuesday,” the first runs from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm and the second session runs from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm. You will receive half price admission and half price ice skate rental. Simply show proof of residency in Cathedral City to receive the discounts.
