About the City Manager Position
The City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Cathedral City, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring our city services run smoothly and efficiently for our diverse community of over 52,000 residents. This critical leadership position works under the policy direction of the City Council while providing professional guidance and exercising independent judgment in implementing Council priorities.
The City Manager leads approximately 230 dedicated city employees who provide essential services including Police, Fire, Public Works, Code Enforcement, Planning, and Economic Development, with a FY 2025/26 General Fund budget of almost $76 million.

Cathedral City is seeking a visionary and proven servant leader who embodies:

Qualifications
Qualified candidates typically possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field, along with six years of progressively responsible experience in municipal activities, including four years of administrative and management responsibility. A Master’s Degree is highly desirable, as is fluency in Spanish.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a competitive annual salary of up to $300,000, dependent on experience and qualifications. The comprehensive benefits package includes:
