Cathedral City Fire Department Offers Free C.E.R.T. Training in March

The Cathedral City Fire Department invites you to become a certified emergency response member of the community by taking free training courses in March.  CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) trains and organizes teams of volunteers who offer assistance to communities before, during and after disasters.

CERT volunteers help their neighbors after disasters when professional responders are not immediately available to help. The CERT program educates participants on how to prepare for hazards that may affect their communities and are trained in basic disaster response skills, fire safety, search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

The CERT program requires twenty (20) hours of instructions that will be presented in five sessions. Participants must attend each class to be qualified CERT. Register now to help protect your community. For additional information call Fire Department Cathedral City at (760) 770-8200 or by email at fireinfo@cathedralcity.gov.
