Cathedral City Looking for Commissioners – Notice of Vacancies

The City of Cathedral City announces vacancies on several Commissions/Committees.  These terms will begin on July 1, 2021. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION NO LATER THAN MONDAY, JUNE 7, 2021, to the Office of the City Clerk, 68-700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral City, CA 92234, or by email to tmartinez@cathedralcity.gov.   Applications can be downloaded from the City’s website at www.cathedralcity.gov or you may request one to be emailed or mailed to you.  Interviews will be conducted during a Special City Council Meeting on June 16, 2021 beginning at 2:00 p.m. via Zoom.  Descriptions for the Commissions and Committees are available on the City’s Website under each respective Commission/Committee.  For more information, or to request an application, please call the Office of the City Clerk at 760-770-0322 or email Tracey Martinez at tmartinez@cathedralcity.gov.

Commission Number of Vacancies Meeting Date/Time
Architectural Review Committee

 

For this seat there is a requirement that it be filled with a licensed landscape architect or someone that has a license, certificate, degree, training or work experience in the same field determined to be relevant by the City Council.

1 Held as necessary to fulfill its duties at such time and place as shall be fixed by the committee.
Public Arts Commission 2

 

Meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
Planning Commission 2 Meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m.
Parks and Community Events Commission 3 Meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
Finance Advisory Committee 1 Meets a minimum of once per year at a date and time to be determined.
Mobile Home Fair Practices Commission 1 Meets on an as needed basis.
Historic Preservation Committee 1 Meets on an as needed basis.

 

Note: Per the Cathedral City Municipal Code, you must be a registered voter and resident of Cathedral City to be considered for any of the above vacancies with the exception two seats on the Public Arts Commission and two seats on the Architectural Review Committee.  Each term is for three years unless a non- resident is appointed to a Commission, their term shall be one year.
