On the morning of Christmas Eve, five teams made up of the Cathedral City Police Department, Councilmember Rita Lamb, and several volunteers converged at the Cathedral Palms Senior Apartments in Cathedral City to hand-out Holiday Gift Bags. Each reusable shopping bag contained a blanket, kitchen cleaning supplies, toiletries, hand sanitizer, facial shield, crossword puzzle book, and snack cakes. Additionally, the team of police officers went door-to-door providing fresh, hot breakfast burritos courtesy of El Portal Mexican Restaurant in Cathedral City.
As you can see from the video, the seniors were so appreciative of their visit, the goodies, and the hot breakfast on this chilly morning. It took less than 40 minutes to visit each of the 185 apartments and bring Holiday Cheer to these wonderful Cathedral City seniors.
