City Council Acts to Significantly Enhance Ambulance Service

The City Council authorized on Wednesday to significantly enhance ambulance service within Cathedral City.  Residents who have a medical emergency are transported via ambulance to local hospitals by the Cathedral City Fire Department.  Our highly trained first responders offer the fastest response times and charge patients some of the lowest fees for service in the Coachella Valley.

The city council also approved the purchase of two new ambulances at $536,441 and two new power patient cots and loaders at $91,350.  With the addition of the two new ambulances, it will allow for our current four ambulances to be held in reserve in case of a major incident.

Additionally, the city council gave the green light to implement another fully-staffed ambulance operation at Fire Station 412 by January 1st.  This will provide an ambulance operation at all three fire stations in Cathedral City, further improving the department’s quick response time and offer our residents even better medical response service.   When seconds count in a medical emergency, this improved service is terrific news!
