City of Cathedral City Appoints Christina Gordon to Fill District 3 City Council Vacancy

The City Council of Cathedral City today appointed Christina Gordon to fill the District 3 seat left vacant by the passing of Councilmember Mark Carnevale on November 16, 2025.

Gordon was selected following interviews with 11 candidates at a special City Council meeting held at 3:00 p.m.

Gordon brings more than 20 years of experience as a nonprofit executive and currently serves on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City. She will serve the remainder of Councilmember Carnevale’s term, which expires in November 2026.

“We are pleased to welcome Councilmember Gordon to the City Council of Cathedral City,” said Mayor Raymond Gregory. “All 11 candidates were impressive, and we thank everyone who expressed interest in serving our community. Councilmember Gordon’s dedication and experience in nonprofit leadership will serve District 3 residents well.”

Councilmember Carnevale was first elected in 2014 and served the community with distinction for more than a decade, including serving as Mayor twice.
