Eight Cathedral City Police Officers Named “Detectives of the Year”

Every city in America must deal with crime.  However, Cathedral City is fortunate to have a team of detectives and patrol officers who work together to solve some of the most dreadful offenses.  During the 22nd Annual Peace Officer & Public Safety Luncheon last week in Palm Desert, Detective Sergeant Rick Sanchez, Detectives Heather Olsen, Brian Barkley, Nate Hanley, Mark Robles and Alirio Moulin as well as Officers Richard Osborne and Juan Ramirez were recognized as “Detectives of the Year” for their efforts in solving a crime and apprehending the perpetrator.

On April 28, 2018, a 9-1-1 call came about a residential burglary.  It turned out to be a home invasion, theft, and assault.  The detectives took DNA evidence and testimony from the victims as they utilized their professional skills to identify, track down, arrest, and place the criminal behind bars.

This is the type of team work that the men and women of the Cathedral City Police Department conduct every day to protect and serve our community.  It is also one of the reasons, Cathedral City continues to have the lowest crime in Coachella Valley.  Let’s give our appreciation to these detectives and officers who come to our rescue when we need them the most.
