El Gallito Closing After 39 Years, Family Ready to Retire

The City has recently learned that after 39 years of serving award winning Mexican food, the owners of El Gallito Mexican Restaurant plan to close the restaurant at the end of April and retire. Today, the City asked Ron Cantu, the managing operator and son to the owners, what were the reasons for the closing and he stated that there were several reasons for the closing, but the bottom line is that the family is ready to retire.

The City is saddened to lose such a landmark restaurant in our downtown corridor. We hope the residents will take this opportunity to visit the restaurant and thank the owners for their service to the community. We wish the Cantus a happy and relaxing retirement that has been truly earned!
