Helpful Tips for a Fun and Safe 4th of July

For the upcoming 4th of July Holiday, families across the United States as well as here in Cathedral City will celebrate our nation’s independence with backyard barbecues, pool parties, and the annual lighting of fireworks. To prevent unintended injuries and fires, the Cathedral City Fire Department offers these helpful tips to make the holiday fun and safe everyone.

Please know that only “Safe and Sane” Fireworks are permitted to be sold in Cathedral City between noon on June 28th and midnight on July 4th. These fireworks must bear the state fire marshal’s seal.

Additionally, it is important to know that any firework that explodes or leaves the ground is ILLEGAL in Cathedral City and throughout California.

For more information about the Cathedral City Fireworks Program, call (760) 770-8200.

To report the use of illegal fireworks in your neighborhood, call the Cathedral City Police Department’s non-emergency line at (760) 770-0300.
