Lamb and Ross Lead the Vote Totals for City Council Districts 1 and 2

Two city council district elections were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 for Districts 1 and 2.  In District 1, two candidates qualified for the election – City Councilmember Rita Lamb and Alan Carvalho.  In District 2, two candidates qualified for the election – Nancy Ross and JR Corrales.  The candidate who receives the most votes in each district will win the election and serve a four-year term on the city council.  The following are the unofficial vote counts for these two races:

 

District 1:

Rita Lamb            1,042

Alan Carvalho    577

 

District 2:

Nancy Ross         864

JR Corrales          374

 

Once Riverside County Registrar of Voters has completed its count of the votes and certifies the election, then the winning candidates will be sworn into office at a Special Council Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 5:30 pm.  Please know that due to COVID-19 restrictions, the swearing-in ceremony will be held virtually this year.  You can watch it on Cable Channel 17 or online at www.CathedralCity.gov and click on CCTV.
