Public Arts Commission, City Council, Rep. Raul Ruiz, Rep. Mike Levin & Family to Dedicate Ofelia Bringas Memorial Bridge

What: Join us to celebrate the dedication of the Ofelia Bringas Memorial Bridge as we unveil a plaque and artwork celebrating her life and accomplishments. A youth counselor who devoted her entire career to bringing available resources to those in need, Bringas was a pillar for this community. She supported thousands of families in the Coachella Valley struggling with childcare, poverty, food scarcity, and language barriers.

When: 10 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022. THE BRIDGE WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC FROM 6 A.M. – 1 P.M. FOR THE DEDICATION EVENT.

Where: Cathedral Canyon Drive & the Whitewater River. Parking will be available at the Cathedral Canyon Business Park, located at 35688 Cathedral Canyon Dr, Cathedral City, CA 92234.

Who: Cathedral City High School student Mariah Hernandez will sing the National Anthem, followed by remarks from:

  • Cathedral City Mayor Ernesto Gutierrez
  • DeeAnn Hopings, Chair, Cathedral City Public Arts Commission
  • Raul Ruiz, U.S. Representative for CA-36
  • Mike Levin, U.S. Representative for CA-49
  • Henry Bringas, Son of Ofelia Bringas.
