Riverside County Registrar of Voters Certifies Rita Lamb as District 1 Winner

On August 27, 2019, the City of Cathedral City held a Special Election for the District 1 City Council seat. This was a mail-in ballot only election. The two candidates qualified to run were Shelley Kaplan and Rita Lamb. Late this afternoon, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters certified the election with Rita Lamb winning the seat vacated due to the death of Mayor Greg Pettis back in January. This term will expire once the November 2020 Election Results have been certified by the Registrar of Voters Office and accepted by the City Council. The certified election results are the following:

RITA LAMB 645 51.56%

City Councilmember-elect Rita Lamb will be sworn into office on Wednesday, September 25th at 3:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The public is welcome to attend.
