The Father of Chicano Music, and the person for which the street in front of City Hall was named, the late Lalo Guerrero will be remembered during a special tribute by his sons, Dan and Mark, on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the CVRep Playhouse starting at 7:00 pm.
Lalo’s son Dan will screen a documentary film he produced that aired nationally on PBS stations. Entitled,
“Lalo Guerrero The Original Chicano,” the film explores Mexican American history through Lalo’s songs and life story and features tributes from Linda Ronstadt, Cheech Marin, Dolores Huerta, and Edward James Olmos among other luminaries. In addition, his other son, Mark, will close the evening performing songs written by the beloved entertainer and activist.
