The Dreamboats have done it again. One year after setting the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater’s all-time attendance record, the fan-favorite tribute band returned to break their own mark, drawing more than 2,200 attendees to Tuesday evening’s Tastes & Sounds of Cathedral City performance on Feb. 24, 2026.
The electric crowd surpassed the previous record of 2,000+ attendees set by The Dreamboats on Feb. 25, 2025 – almost exactly one year ago to the day. It marks the largest gathering at the amphitheater since the venue opened in 2022.
“Tastes & Sounds started as an idea two years ago, and now we’re setting attendance records at a venue that continues to build momentum and bring our community together,” said Ryan Hunt, who leads the Communications & Events Division for the City of Cathedral City. “We owe a huge thank you to The Dreamboats for helping us get here — they’ve become part of the Cathedral City story, and this community clearly can’t get enough.”
The crowd filled the amphitheater grounds as The Dreamboats delivered their signature high-energy performance of classic hits, keeping attendees of all ages on their feet throughout the evening. Local food vendors Smokey Dawgs, El Reaper Chicken Smash Burgers and Crush Crush Cookies kept the crowd well-fed, while the amphitheater’s popular BYOB policy added to the festive atmosphere.
Now in its third season, Tastes & Sounds of Cathedral City has grown from a brand-new concept in February 2024 into one of the city’s signature community programs. The free weekly concert series has expanded to include both fall and spring programming and continues to draw record crowds to the amphitheater.
The spring 2026 season continues every Tuesday evening from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral City Community Amphitheater, located at 68526 Avenida Lalo Guerrero. Upcoming performances include the Cat City Drag Race kicking off Cathedral City LGBT+ Days on March 3, Leanna & The Free Agents on March 10, Outlaw Mariachi on March 17, and Giselle Woo & The Night Owls on March 31. Gates open at 5 p.m. with performances from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
Tastes & Sounds of Cathedral City is made possible through the generous support of sponsors Cathedral City LGBT+ Days, GED Magazine, Dinner With Patsi, Sunshine Café and Hampton Inn & Suites.
