Cathedral City Library Continues as Official Cooling Center for Summer 2025

Are you looking for relief from the summer heat? The Cathedral City Library, located at 33520 Date Palm Drive, will once again serve as the official Riverside County Community Action Partnership (CAP) cooling center in Cathedral City. The cooling center will be open June 1 – October 15, 2025.

Hours of Operation: Normal Library Hours

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday: 10:00am – 6:00pm
  • Wednesday: 12:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Sunday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
  • Friday: Closed

When temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees or higher, an official heat warning is issued by CAP and the Riverside University Health System of Public Health. During these heat warnings, all Cooling Centers will be activated until temperatures subside or operating hours end.

What to Expect

  • Supplies: Riverside County Community Action Partnership will provide snacks, water, mini fans, and other cooling items.
  • Supervision: Cathedral City Library staff will supervise and ensure the Cooling Center is operating as intended.
  • Cost: There are no direct costs for the City of Cathedral City to operate the cooling center.
