The “Psychic Pet Fundraiser” is focused on raising monies for our local animal shelters, spay and neuter, and rescue organizations to care for our furry friends (shelter, food, medical). In the past we have been able to raise $3,000.00 to $5,000.00 at each event.

The event itself is run completely by volunteers! Woof, Woof Magazine, and the City of Cathedral City are our media sponsors.

The event consists of psychics, card readers, channels, mediums, animal communicators, etc. (hence referred to as “healers”) who volunteer their time to give 15-minute mini- readings to the attendees. Attendees can sign up for a single reading, or more, for $20.00 each. The healer is encouraged to gather emails and book potential clients for a full session at future time. We do ask that, if future clients are booked, the healers donate back to the cause at least 10% of their full session fee.

The structure for the event, which is super flexible and can be tailored per charity and location, is laid out as follows. This is a four-hour event generally done in the afternoon. An average of six healers will be scheduled for the event and split their time into two shifts, three healers per two-hour period. In this way, no one is overworking or over volunteering.

Ideally, the event is hosted at a supportive business, such as a coffee shop, or restaurant with a patio. The healers are grouped together on the patio while the attendees hang out in the coffee shop/restaurant or some other place. We greatly encourage those in attendance to patronize the business by ordering food and drink. The business is asked to donate 10% of their proceeds for the day, or at least during the time of the event.

To be considered as a recipient for our fundraiser we ask the following:

• The shelter, foster, spay/neuter program must be a 501(c)(3). A payment processing system must be in place at the event by the charity to directly receive the funds.
• The organization receiving the funds must agree to promote the event as much as possible on their social media, through their newsletter, and any other way they can help get the word out. Examples of two fliers and photos from past events are below…
• The organization must provide one to two volunteer to help the day of the to be considered as a healer for our fundraiser we ask the following:
• Have materials to share for your business, newsletter sign-up sheet, business card,
• Share the event on your social
• If you book a client for a full session after the event, and they came to you from this event, tithe back at least 10% to the charity.
• Show up and keep your commitment for the entire time you volunteered No leaving early.
• Maintain a professional demeanor, presentation, and attitude at all

The idea for this fundraiser is to support everyone who participates, the healers get new clients, the event location (coffee shop or restaurant) gets patrons, the charity gets funds to support their cause. We see this as a win for everyone involved.
