New Police Officer Joins Cathedral City’s Police Department

Please welcome Officer Christopher Acosta to the Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD). Officer Costa was sworn-in at City Hall in front of family, friends and fellow officers on Monday.

Prior to serving for CCPD, Officer Acosta received a bachelor’s degree from University of California, Riverside. While at UCR, Officer Acosta served as a community service officer for its police department for nearly two years. This experience led to him to seek a career in law enforcement. He applied for a position in CCPD and was accepted at the end of 2016. In October 2017, Officer Acosta attended the police academy through the Riverside County Sheriff’s Academy in Riverside, California. He graduated from the six-month program on March 22, 2018 and started his first official day with CCPD on Monday, March 26, 2018.
