Start 2026 with a Simpler, Modern City Website — The New CathedralCity.gov is Here

The City of Cathedral City is excited to announce the launch of its newly redesigned website at cathedralcity.gov. The updated site, which went live today, January 22, 2026, represents the City’s first major web overhaul in nearly a decade.

The redesigned website features a modern, user-friendly interface with improved navigation, enhanced accessibility, and mobile-responsive design that allows residents to access City services seamlessly from any device.

One of the most exciting new features is the Service Finder, a powerful tool that functions as a mini app for residents, allowing them to quickly find answers and resolve issues without navigating through multiple pages. Whether you need to report a pothole, find information about permits, or locate a City service, Service Finder makes it faster and easier than ever.

Additional improvements include:

  • Modern, user-friendly interface with streamlined navigation
  • Comprehensive content cleanup removing outdated and redundant information
  • Enhanced search functionality
  • Improved accessibility for users with disabilities (ADA compliance)
  • Mobile-responsive design for seamless access on all devices
  • Updated visual design reflecting the City’s current brand identity
  • Modernized event and news sections for better community engagement

“We know this is long overdue and are excited to move to a modern website that reduces clicks for residents, adds a new Service Finder tool, and makes access to City services easier,” said Ryan Hunt, Communications & Events Manager. “This is just the beginning — we’ll continue to refine and improve the site based on feedback from residents.”

The project was a collaborative effort between the Communications and Information Technology departments. Matthew Levy, Enterprise Systems Analyst, played a critical role in providing technical expertise and ensuring a smooth migration to the new platform. Victor Gomez, Administrative Analyst II in the City Manager’s Office/Economic Development, also contributed to the project, assisting with content review and style guide implementation. Staff conducted an extensive audit to archive outdated materials, consolidate content, and restructure the site to reflect how residents actually search for services.

DiscoverCathedralCity.com continues to be the City’s go-to destination for news, events, and marketing.

Please note: Because the site has been completely restructured, Google search results may temporarily display broken links to old pages. This includes the website’s search function, which is powered by Google. Our IT team has submitted a recrawl request and new sitemap to Google, but it may take two to three weeks for search results to fully update. In the meantime, we recommend navigating the site using the Service Finder tool, call-to-action buttons, and menu links on the homepage.

The City will continue to refine the website based on user feedback. Residents are encouraged to explore the new site and share their experience.
