Community Update

by Robert Rodriguez, Director of Planning & Building

OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Although City offices remain closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Development Department, which includes the Planning, Building, Engineering and Code Compliance Departments, are here to serve our residents, businesses and development community. Many of our services including permits and licenses, inspections, code compliance and general and zoning information are available online, by email, phone and fax. Applications and permit forms are available on the City’s website at www.cathedralcity.gov.

For larger construction and engineering projects including new Planning submittals such as Conditional Use Permit and Design Review applications, appointments may be made to deliver submittal packages in person during business hours, Monday – Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. Also, City staff is available to meet with project applicants through teleconference or conference calls and those appointments may be made directly with each department.

For Code Compliance, the GoRequest mobile app is available for download for both iPhone and Android and can be used to submit complaints and concerns for such items as graffiti, illegal dumping and abandoned vehicles.
