Check out the latest episode of CCTV’s “The Art of Cathedral City” highlighting professional theater and live performance in downtown Cathedral City!
In part two of his visit to Coachella Valley Repertory (CVRep), located at 68510 East Palm Canyon Drive in the heart of Cathedral City’s downtown arts district, host Conrad Angel Corral continues his conversation with Executive Artistic Director Adam Karsten about CVRep’s 2026 Summer Cabaret Series. With the opening weeks behind us, there’s still a full slate of magical, musical evenings ahead — award-winning singers, musicians, dancers, and storytellers performing Tuesdays and Thursdays right through July 30, 2026.
The series continues June 25, 2026, as Brent Barrett returns to CVRep with My 40 Years on Broadway — a sheer-gold evening drawing on a treasury of songs from many of Broadway and musical theatre’s most beloved shows, delivered by a true class act of stage, film, television, concert, and opera.
From there, the lineup keeps the energy high all summer long:
- July 7, 2026 — Robert Yacko. A veteran of Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatres across the country, and Los Angeles stages, the consummate showman makes his Summer Cabaret Series appearance for what promises to be a grand night for singing.
- July 9, 2026 — Emily Skinner. One of Broadway’s most engaging and versatile performers, Skinner brings a commanding presence and a résumé that includes Tony, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, and Drama Desk recognition. John Fischer serves as music director and accompanist.
- July 14, 2026 — Broadway Showstoppers with Glenn Rosenblum: A Valentine to Broadway Love Songs. The dynamic lecturer and self-described “theatre-phile” returns with an entertaining, informative celebration of Broadway’s great love songs — joined by Broadway veteran Alix Korey.
- July 16, 2026 — Sarah Uriarte Berry: For the Love of Judy. In a very special CVRep debut, the five-time Broadway star (and Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle nominee for Lincoln Center’s The Light in the Piazza) salutes a music legend in an evening sure to touch hearts. Gerald Sternbach is music director and accompanist.
- July 21, 2026 — Nic + Desi: Song, Dance & Romance. Award-winning married Broadway duo Nic Dromard and Desi Davar make their CVRep debut with a dazzling evening of powerhouse vocals, showstopping tap dance, and magnetic chemistry celebrating Broadway, Hollywood, and the American Songbook.
- July 23, 2026 — Mary VanArsdel: The Cook Book – Mary VanArsdel Sings the Barbara Cook Songbook. The multi-award-winning actress and singer celebrates the beloved Barbara Cook, directed by series opener Jason Graae with music director Michael Orland.
- July 28, 2026 — Broadway Showstoppers with Glenn Rosenblum: The Holidays in July (Broadway’s Holiday Songs and a Little from Hollywood Too!). Rosenblum’s second summer installment brings holiday cheer in July, with special guests Eileen Barnett and Dana Meller from Broadway and LA’s Musical Theatre Guild.
- July 30, 2026 — Davis Gaines. The series culminates in spectacular fashion with a Broadway great — the Phantom of all Phantoms — who has sung at Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. John Olearchick serves as music director and accompanist.
CVRep’s intimate 200-seat theater remains the only theater in the Coachella Valley with Small Professional Theatre status with Actors’ Equity, ensuring professional-caliber performances right here in Cathedral City.
